Myrrh originating from Yemen has a darker color and a more rubbery consistency than the African one. The smell is more intense and the sweet notes are more present. Unfortunately, it is not always available due to the political instability of the region.

History and traditions: Already used by the ancient Egyptians as one of the components of Kyphi, myrrh embodies the energy of our planet and reunites with the earth. The fumigation with this resin was considered capable of reconciling the tired and confused spirit.

Information: There are about fifty species of Commiphora but the most used for the production of myrrh is the Commiphora myrrha. Myrrh is partially soluble in water so it is also possible to use it in essence burners with a candle, placing a few grains in the water.
